This question is very important, and yet it is the one most often avoided. The facts speak for themselves: only 13% of employees across Europe feel engaged with their work. Why? Among the reasons are a poor working environment, which includes discrimination, inequality, excessive workloads, unsafe physical working conditions, violence, harassment or bullying, under- or over-promotion, inadequate pay, etc. All these factors impact mental health, and this costs the global economy trillions due to absenteeism and presenteeism.

Mental health is directly linked to workplace retention and productivity, engagement, reduction of turnover, and creativity.

As you can see, if a company supports its employees, listens to them, it can empower them and thus lead to inspiring stories that can be the best practice within the company itself.

But there are other factors that a company must consider, such as simplicity, transparency, equality, integrity, and accountability.
