The investors chief problem - and even his worst enemy - is likely to be himself.
Benjamin Graham
Most investment professionals can name the common behavioural biases. Far fewer can say which of them are costing them money, how often, and by how much. Knowing about a bias does little to stop it: in the moment, a bias feels like good judgement. It only becomes visible afterwards, in the pattern of decisions.
This MasterClass closes that gap in two steps. On Day 1, participants experience the seven biases that are most often detected amongst even professional investors - overconfidence, herding, the disposition effect, the endowment effect, sunk cost, fear of regret and repurchase bias. On Day 2, participants use state of the art analytics to identify these biases in real investor behavior and learn practical tips for integrating bias mitigation measures into their own investment processes that are used daily by top fund managers. The course draws on more than a decade of Essentia Analytics’ research into the decision-making of professional equity managers, and on the practices of the investors profiled in Stock Market Maestros (Harriman House, 2026). Participants leave knowing what each bias looks like in real data, which of them they are most exposed to, and which practical countermeasures they can put in place themselves.
