Dr. Herbert Mattord is Managing Partner of Security Professors, LLC and Associate Director of the Center for Cybersecurity Education, Research and Practice (CCERP) at Kennesaw State University in Metro Atlanta, Georgia. He brings over 25 years of combined academic and industry experience in cybersecurity governance, risk management, regulatory compliance, and security operations. Dr. Mattord has coauthored a series of leading cybersecurity textbooks published by Cengage Learning that are used in universities across North America and internationally, including Principles of Information Security and Management of Information Security. He has designed and delivered professional masterclasses and executive education programmes for compliance officers, CISOs, auditors, and risk managers across North America and Europe, with a focus on translating complex regulatory frameworks into actionable governance programmes. His areas of specialist expertise include the NIS2 Directive, GDPR, ISO 27001, DORA, and incident response programme design.
