Overview

This MasterClass provides a deep-dive into EU sustainable finance and sustainability reporting, focusing on how regulatory requirements such as CSRD and ESRS connect with investor needs and support companies strategic decision-making. This masterclass provides a timely update following the recent Omnibus decisions, which changed the EU Reporting and Due Diligence Regulation substantially. Participants will gain a clear understanding of the EUs sustainable finance framework works, how to prepare for legislation and how companies can move beyond compliance to create strategic value.

SENIOR SUSTAINABILITY POLICY ADVISOR & FOUNDER
RESILIENCE²

Dr. Katharina Bryan is a senior sustainability policy advisor with 20 years of experience at the intersection of international organisations, governments, and global business. Her career combines public and private sector sustainability management, reporting and audit experience. As a founder of Resilience² she supports private and public sector organisations to build resilience through integrating sustainability into strategy, engagement and reporting. She is currently Senior Policy Advisor to GRI (Global Reporting Initiative) advising on global sustainability reporting developments and engagement.

Until August 2025, she was Head of International Sustainability Reporting Policy at Amazon, where she built a global reporting policy function, led high-level engagements, and advised on IFRS, CSRD, CSDDD and transition plans. In addition, she supported nature and carbon credit teams on emerging nature and biodiversity policy. Before joining Amazon, Katharina spent 13 years at the European Court of Auditors (ECA), the EUs independent external auditor. As Head of Cabinet to the ECA Member from Sweden, she advised on strategy and board matters and supervised high-visibility audits on sustainable finance and reporting. Her earlier roles include leading the Managing Authority for EU Structural Funds in her native region, Burgenland (Austria). Katharina holds a doctorate in Economic and Social Sciences (Vienna University of Economics and Business), a
Master of European Law (University of Liverpool), and a Master in International Business Relations (University of Applied Sciences Burgenland). She is based in Luxembourg.
