Empowering Women

2019-02-01

Have you heard of the concept of empowering women?

Empowering means: to give someone the authority or power to do something. If you are a woman, like me, you can understand how it is to open your own path in business. Yes, it’s hard! There are many challenges and most of them are related to stereotypes that men and women have believed for a long time. But this does not mean that they are true. As a first step, you have to get rid of them and believe in you…what you are, what you have, what you can do. Believing will lead to confidence.

Have you met any woman who is so confident that everyone wants to be with her? Self-confidence is powerful; how you feel about yourself it’s reflected, shown. Hence, analyze what you are good at and accept what you are not so good at. The whole package is you. So, love yourself and accept it. Being yourself and not trying to be a copy of other is the first step to be unique.

From that point on, you can improve your communication skills. One tip I can give you is to pay attention to your non-verbal language. Most women say something and their body is saying the opposite! This is complicated for the other person to understand if, for example, you said you are fine when your arms are cross, your body is stiff and you are nodding.

Another tip: nothing is personal and never assume; always ask. Take this as a statement. You will increase your emotional intelligence by handling in a more judiciously way your emotions. Important: if you know yourself, it is going to be easy to be in control of your own emotions. Start there.

Lastly, empowering women means: to start thinking that the most important person who can give you authority and power is you. Why don’t you start?
