Overview

The Contract and legal document drafting seminar is an intensive training event for lawyers and paralegals working in the pharmaceutical industry, held over 4 consecutive half-day sessions. It will improve participants skills of writing clear, concise contracts with specific relevance to the pharmaceutical Industry, including collaborative research agreements, joint-venture agreements, IP rights and key issues in commercial manufacturing agreements for medicines and vaccines.

The seminar will cover not only the practical knowledge needed by lawyers working in international commerce but will also simulate an international contract negotiation scenario, with teams and simulated strategy meetings, as well as tactical argument development.

The trainer is a British lawyer, used to the multicultural, international flavour of modern business, who is also a qualified lawyer/linguist, and the chief training partner/instructor of the UN for contracts and contract drafting.

Trainer

Richard Brady

Richard qualified as a lawyer in the 1970s, and worked in local government, before leaving to develop his own law practice in London in 1982. In 1995 he established a Medical Expenses Insurance Company in the Middle East and ran the Saudi Arabian office for 2 years. On returning to London, in 1997, he re-qualified in Finance and Insurance with the Chartered Institute of Insurance and spent the next 7 years working as a financial consultant in the City of London.

Since 2008, he has been the head of an internet distance learning company for lawyers, the British Legal Centre which trains lawyers and judiciary around the World and he has been running live on-line courses and traditional live training events since the centres formation in 2008. The centre is now the full training partner of UNITAR (the training arm of the UN) and Richard is the chief instructor for all contract drafting training for legal training division of UNITAR.

During his time as a teacher/trainer Richard has taught both law, and professional legal soft-skills, to lawyers in many law and audit companies around the world, including several Magic Circle law companies and all of the Big 4 Audit companies. He has also conducted live training courses on a wide variety of legal topics at legal departments in many multinational corporations, including Shell Oil, Master Foods, Air Liquide, DAMAC (Dubai), ENKA (Turkey) EMBRACO/Whirlpool (Brazil), and Mowasalat (Qatar). He has also provided training for the Judiciary of several Middle Eastern countries.
