Overview

Most pharma, biotech and device companies outsource some or all of their clinical trials program to one or more CROs. The operations and project management of a study that is run through a CRO is quite different from running a study in-house, yet companies often provide little or no formal training when they transition from in-house to CRO-run project management. In addition, the latest revision to ICH GCP has highlighted the responsibility on the Sponsor to be seen to be overseeing their trial. Agency Inspectors are increasingly focusing on this as an area of weakness in Sponsor companies.

This course will train you in CRO oversight, and teach you how to design and implement the systems your company needs in order to issue a good RFP (request for proposal), evaluated the bids, choose a partner CRO and then oversee your project to conclusion.

Trainer

Peter A. S. Motteram

For over 20 years, Peter has been advising companies on their clinical trials strategy, project management and CRO outsourcing. With work across Europe, North America and Asia, Peter has a wide range of experience with different types of clients operating in territories around the world. He has hosted multiple inspections from FDA and various European agencies. A significant component of Peter’s work is in running training courses, both public and tailored to in-house needs.

Prior to founding ProActive Study Management, Peter was General Manager of ClinTrials Research for all non-Americas offices. ClinTrials Research was at that time the third largest global clinical trials CRO and was the first to do an IPO. Previously, Peter had run Business Development for Quintiles in Europe and ROW. Peter started his pharmaceutical career as a GCP auditor with Sterling Drug.
