David Cole

David Cole has over thirty years experience in cards, computing and management services.  He has excellent knowledge of applications in the credit, debit, salary, pre-paid and payment card industry.  Over the last twenty years he has been involved heavily in the development strategic approaches to payment processing, mobile payments, remittances and the emergence of Smart Cards and the EMV standards, since launching the first EMV cards in 1997.  He has become a leading exponent in the use of electronic payments across all market sectors, to exploit and utilize the opportunities the technology provides for expansion of the business into new sectors such as the unbanked, efficiency of operation, and the drive to increased profits. He has developed strategies and implemented programs to support the use of all types of payment technology in many environments.

He is involved in the application of chip, EMV and electronic payment technology into all market sectors where this can be used including payments, ticketing, loyalty, leisure, phones, vending and all of the other potential applications that the chip technology can support together on the one platform.

David’s main areas of expertise include strategic, technical and business investigation, business studies, company investigations, marketing plans, business and financial plan preparation, market surveys, on-going technical review of Card and EFT systems, training and team management.  His experience has covered Card Launch, Digital Payments, Transaction Outsourcing, International Merchant Settlement, Remittance Processing, Mobile Payments, Remittances, EMV Smart Card developments in all market sectors, Secure Electronic Commerce and other related applications.  In addition he has worked on ATM, EFTPOS, Fraud Systems, Card Management, Billing Systems and the International Payment systems.  He has worked with Financial Institutions, Card Schemes, Retailers, Loyalty Providers, Travel Companies, Oil Companies and Telecommunications Providers.

David has produced and delivered courses, seminars and workshops, explaining and exploring all aspects of the strategic business and technical side of electronic payments and smart card based applications and services across many parts of the world. Training courses have included fraud and risk  management, Issuing and Acquiring, new technologies such as mobile and blockchain in fact any aspect of payments in use or under development.
